Thanks for stopping by, let us share our story with you.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Adam and Audrey were married in 2004, and have been enjoying their journey together one step at a time. Both Adam and Audrey sensed God calling them into ministry in their teenage years. Adam and Audrey have been active in ministry since they were in high school, and have had the opportunity to serve together in ministry in various church settings and churches of different sizes.
In 2008, both Adam and Audrey began to feel like God was calling them to plant a church in Boone County, Il. To confirm that call, they participated in a Church Planting Assessment Center hosted by Converge MidAmerica. They were confirmed for church planting, with the condition that they need to get some experience in a church plant, before planting a church.
After serving at Meadowland Church for almost six years, the Reardon's sense God was calling them to step out in faith and leave Meadowland to go plant a new church in Belvidere, Il.
After a lot of prayer and conversations, Meadowland Church agreed to release the Reardon's from ministry and send them out as missionaries to Boone County.
In August of 2014 a group of people began meeting in a home in Poplar Grove, Il to pray about starting a new church in Boone County.
We believe God is calling us to plant a new, healthy church that would:
- reach people who have not been reached yet
- reach people who have walked away from church
- love God, love people, and make disciples
We started Redemption Church because we desire to see the gospel redeem our lives, our families, our neighborhoods, our communities, and the world. Redemption Church is a place where hurting, broken, imperfect people can discover hope, healing, and abundant life.
Simply put, we are on a mission to introduce people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
As we met weekly for prayer and Bible study, our group began to grow and soon we were no longer to able to meet in a home.
We began to meet every other week at Belvidere Central Middle School, and in March of 2015 we had our first public worship service and have been gathering weekly for worship there ever since.
"Planting new churches is the most effective evangelistic methodology known under heaven" - C. Peter Wagner
We love our community!
We believed there was a great need to see a new Christ Centered, Evangelical church planted in Boone County. We believe God called us to Belvidere. Not only is Belvidere the largest city in Boone County, it is also the hub of Boone County.
Did you know:
- Of the 54,165 people that live in Boone County, 47% live in Belvidere.
- Belvidere is estimated to grow 5.2% in the next few years, which is above the national average.
- The American Church Research Project reports that only 4.5% of the people who live in Boone County attend an evangelical church on a weekly basis.
